Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s a list of questions I get often. If you still can’t find the answer please contact me!

A Professional Organizer helps you declutter and organize your home. We use our skills and education to help you through the process of decluttering; deciding what to keep, toss, donate, or sell. Once the decluttering process is complete, we help decide how to organize your space so it works best for you and your lifestyle. We also teach you along the way how to create better habits so you can stay organized.

There are a number of benefits to hiring a Professional Organizer:

  • Not going through it alone.
  • Have dedicated guidance and support throughout the process.
  • Learn new skills to apply to every day life.
  • Learn how to properly dispose of certain things.
  • Have many helpful resources at your finger tips.

And best of all...Have your own personal cheerleader!

Yes! Virtual organizing is a great option if you don't have a Professional Organizer in your area. It's also a flexible and budget-friendly option since you don't have to commit to a large block of time.

No. While you and I empty cupboards and other storage spaces, we may need to wipe down some areas, but my main purpose is to get you decluttered and organized.

It's important for the client to be present and part of the process. While working together we need to have discussions about what's working for you and what isn't, and talk about your challenges and goals. Together we'll figure out what you want to keep, what you don’t need, and decide where to put your stuff so it makes sense for you.

Absolutely not! At the end of the day, the final decision on what to keep or toss is yours. This is your journey. Throughout the decluttering process, I will use my skills and training to ask all the right questions to help you make the best decision for you and your goals.

This is a very personalized question. There are 3 main factors that will make up our timeline:

  1. How densely cluttered is each room?
  2. How fast can you make decisions?
  3. Are you physically capable to help move things around?

Once we work together in our first session, it will be easier to estimate time based on those factors.

As part of my services, whatever donations I can fit in my vehicle per session, I will take to my local Value Village. If you have donations you want given to a specific charity, that will be left up to you. If you need junk removal services for larger items like furniture, I will gladly assist in setting you up with a company that is a trusted associate of Professional Organizers in Canada (POC).

Some clients feel like their home is the worst possible mess that anyone has ever seen, and that's likely not the case. As an experienced Professional Organizer I've seen all sorts of living situations and nothing will surprise me. Your home is a zero judgement space and everything during our sessions is 100% confidential.

Absolutely! The only thing I require is that you have permission from the gift recipient, and that they are fully on board.
